Ryan Dart is a jazz guitarist who hails from Southern California. He studied jazz guitar at California Institute of the Arts with many jazz legends including Charlie Haden (Pat Metheny), Alphonso Johnson (Wayne Shorter) and Joe LaBarbara (Bill Evans). Through decades of study and performance, Ryan has developed a unique chromatic arrangement style and an original melodic solo approach; imbuing those old songs you love with a new life. Drawing on his own originals as well as jazz standards, musicals, and Disney songs, Ryan finds himself at home playing blues, bebop, latin and gypsy jazz.
Ryan has performed at venues including the House of Blues in Hollywood, CA, and CSU San Marcos, in San Marcos CA. He has had the joy of sharing the stage with many well regarded musicians including James Brandon Lewis, Ben Shepherd and Miroslav Tadic. From 2014 to 2016, he taught jazz guitar at College of the Siskyous in Weed, CA and accompanied jazz department ensembles. Ryan currently performs solo jazz around Marquette County and teaches music at Jim’s Teaching Center in Marquette.
